An increasing number of children are overweight or obese and without intervention 80% of them will remain overweight as adults. This can put them at risk of various medical problems including diabetes, high blood pressure and low self esteem.

An important way to help your child with weight loss, maintaining a normal weight and develop health eating habits, is to encourage them to participate in regular physical activity. We treat our children’s Personal Training sessions with the upmost sensitivity and work with parents to plan short and long term goals and to understand key issues.

Sessions are fun and involve challenging own personal best targets to inspire and engage in participation. Children will also be taught the importance of muscle groups, the benefits of a warm up and cool down and general fitness knowledge.

Children’s Personal training sessions can also be tailored for those who participate in Sport at club or county level. We can develop fitness levels to aid sports performance. We can liaise with club/county coaches to understand and work collaboratively to gain the maximum impact for fitness sessions.

An overview of a Children’s Personal training session is listed below:

5 mins – Warm Up

To prevent injury, including light activity such as jogging and stretching.

40 mins - Main Exercise Session

Examples of activities include – timed 3k run, interval running, sprints, body weight exercises, timed exercises using equipment such as hurdles and parachutes, sport based fitness activities.

The key to keeping children interested, is to continuously change each session, so they are never repeating activities. This keeps them focused on what they are achieving.
